Derek McInnes “I thought it was an untidy first half performance. “We did not look after the ball well enough and caused ourselves some problems. Hamilton had some good chances. I thought we got into some good areas to do some more damage to them but the ball retention and the quality of the final pass was lacking. “We go behind. I actually thought it was a foul on Shay Logan (at the free kick). I can hear their dugout saying ‘get the block’. Rojano has barraged Shay and infringed him at the front of the wall.

“I thought it was an untidy first half performance.

My first impression was the ball went over the wall but having seen it again the ball has gone into exactly the space Shay was occupying and gone in at that height (where he would have stopped it).

“The response was good. It was a great pass and a good finish from Greg Stewart. I thought Greg was terrific today and his goal gets us level and we know we can do far better in the second half.

“There was more rhythm and fluency to our play in the second period. I thought we were better in possession and it felt as though the winning goal was coming. When it did come we should have seen the game out and won it.

“I am disappointed we have not been able to do so. It think there was only two or three minutes between both goals.

“We have to credit Hamilton. I thought they got what they deserved. We did not do enough to win the game although second half I thought there were a lot of positives. I would like to be here sitting talking about the response from the players coming from behind and talking about those positives but it is difficult when you have lost two points.

“Sometimes you have to hold your hands up when you have not played at your best and take your point and move on.

“The run we have been on, nine away wins in a row and a draw, we came here with the intension to win and when you don’t win, after we have worked as hard as we do, there is always disappointment.

“I think if we are honest with ourselves I don’t think we were quite good enough for a (long enough) period of time (at any point during the game). I thought we went from having really good moments in the game to moments of sloppiness and we gave them encouragement.”
