“A very disappointing afternoon and we look at it as two points dropped.

“Our focus was on winning the game. Credit to Hamilton, they played well. They imposed their game on us. They made it difficult for us.

“We were nowhere near it in the first half. We were not good enough. They had chances but Shay also had a good chance in front of goal.

“Second half though I thought we did just about enough to win the game.

“We should have done better. Especially after we got the lead.

“That was the most disappointing aspect, losing the goal after we had got in front. It was a straight ball into the forward’s feet and lay off and a shot. That is not good enough from us. It is something we need to look at.

“We will have to look over the game and see what went wrong and what we could have done better.

“The pitch is very poor but that is no excuse.

“It is difficult to put your finger on it (what went wrong) straight after a game. We had spells in the game where we did well, where we played our stuff and got crosses into the box and created some danger in front of their goal. But at the end of the day I don’t think it was a strong enough performance to get all three points and we can only blame ourselves for that.

“We wanted to keep as close to Celtic as we could so from that point of view it is two points dropped.

“All the stuff about the manager, it is only speculation so it does not really affect us. It does not affect our football. We all want him to stay. He is here and we just keep doing the same things.

“This is football. There is always speculation over someone. You just have to get on with it.

“We know that it is a very tough schedule coming up over the next couple of months. We have to be ready for that. We will make sure the performances are better than today.

“It is always good to get away with your country for a little time but you have to make sure you are on it and at the top of your game when you get back. I will make sure I am just that.”
