Derek McInnes, Jonny Hayes and Niall McGinn on RedTV
Derek McInnes spoke to the media at lunchtime today:
“I think for me we would like to finish the season with a victory. In the four fixtures we’ve had since the split, three away, one at home, we’ve been unbeaten on the road and we’ve won our home game so of course I think regardless we should always be looking to win our home games and if we can send our fans home with a convincing victory then that’s our target.
“There’s not a lot on for either team but I think both teams will want to finish with a win. They’re coming off the back of a disappointing result against Hibs so I am sure Gary Locke and his squad will be looking to come up here and make amends for that. All we can do from our side of things its take pride in the fact that we are unbeaten, defensively we’ve looked pretty comfortable and the challenge on us is try and cause the opposition problems and score a few goals.
“Ryan Jack has got a problem and looks likely to miss the game. Rory Fallon and Peter Pawlett are obviously suspended. Russell Anderson will miss the game, we just don’t feel it’s worth taking any risk with his hamstring.
“Russell is one booking away from picking up a suspension for the start of next season and that has been the case since the Dundee game got moved to the Sunday so that has always been in the back of our mind too.
“It would be nice to get a big crowd, especially with the new kit being launched as well. We’re trying to generate a bit of optimisim. I think the close season will be the biggest part of that, making good signings, and I think that will help us generate a lot of interest in the club. Any initiative that the club has in terms of cutting prices we are hopeful will pay dividends and create a healthy crowd which in turn helps the players as they aim to deliver 3 points for the fans.”
