Bid for a Main Stand Box and help raise funds for Maggie’s
Aberdeen FC is delighted to be lending its support to two friends of the Club who are taking on a mammoth expedition in aid of Maggie’s.
Sarah Niddrie and Stuart Mitchell, employees of Flexlife in Bridge of Don, alongside twenty eight people from various businesses across Aberdeen are embarking on the trek up Kilimanjaro on the 10th of June for a 7 day, 6 night trek up the Rongai route of Kilimanjaro, covering a total of 50 miles and reaching an altitude of 19,340ft.
It is hoped that the expedition will raise the final money needed for the £3 million new build Maggie’s centre that is expected to complete in the summer time of this year. It is anticipated that Maggie’s Aberdeen will support up to 40% of all new people diagnosed with cancer each year by the time the centre is 5 years old.
Stuart and Sarah are hoping to raise around £10,000 as a result of their efforts and have already undertaken a variety of fundraising activities including a quiz night, bacon roll run and collection at the testimonial match between Keith and Aberdeen FC, hosted on behalf of Sarah’s huband, Kris!
In a show of support for the pair as they take on this challenge, Aberdeen FC, has donated a Main Stand Box, for up to 8 guests, at a match of choice next season. Bidding for this great prize is now being welcomed by Sarah and Stuart as they aim to reach their £10,000 target.
If any of the members of the Red Army fancy showing their support for this great cause then please contact Sarah on 01224 617950 or alternatively via [email protected] with your bid for the box. There is a reserve of £500 on this with the auction closing on 31st May.
