Aberdeen FC have this evening completed the signing of Dylan McGeouch from English Football League One side Sunderland. The midfielder has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

Dylan completed his paperwork and medical at Cormack Park today and will travel with the rest of the squad tomorrow to Dubai for their winter training camp.

The 26-year-old started his career with Celtic, making his debut in 2011. He had loan spells in England with Coventry City and then back in Scotland with Hibernian, before signing permanently for the Easter Road side in 2015, during which time he won the Scottish Cup and promotion from the Championship. He then moved to the Stadium of Light in 2018.

The attacking midfielder represented Scotland at under-17, under-19 and under-21 level and has won two full caps for the national team.

Commenting on his latest recruit, Manager Derek McInnes said, “I’m delighted Dylan has joined us, he’s a player I’ve admired for a considerable period.

“I’m looking forward to getting him integrated as part of the squad. We’ve struggled with injuries in the midfield and bringing in a player of his ability will reinforce that area of the team and will benefit us greatly.”

We would like to extend our thanks to our colleagues at Sunderland AFC for their co-operation during this transfer.

Everyone at Pittodrie welcomes Dylan to the club and wishes him all the very best during his time in the North-east of Scotland.
