St Johnstone reflections
“Like always in football, there’s always the next game. We want to keep it positive. Of course, we analysed the last game, and I think we did okay. We dominated most of the game, but then we still didn’t win.
“So there’s lots to improve as well, but also lots to be positive about. I think it’s a mixture of that, and hopefully we can get the three points on Saturday."
Training v matchday
“I think a big difference as well is being relaxed. It’s not like we’re out there just having fun, like it’s a holiday or anything, but of course it’s more open in training.
“Even the game against Hibs, for example, is more of an open game. In the last game, you see when we play at home, some teams sit back and then it’s more difficult to break them down.
“I think that’s one of the things we talked about this week and what we need to do better. It can look like we’re a bit stiffer or stressed or whatever, but it’s just the reality of a team being very compact. I think it is more to do with that than the mental part."
Dealing with pressure
“If you play for Aberdeen, you know what comes with that, and that’s pressure as well. If you ask me, that’s normal at bigger clubs.
“So I hope I speak for everyone else when I say that we embrace that and get the results and match the expectations."
Feeling fit
“I feel good. Of course, in terms of fitness, it took some time because I didn’t have any rhythm for half a year.
“I picked it up towards the end of last season. I think I’ve had a good number of games since then.
“Then I had a little break during the international break. Looking back at it, I think it was a perfect wave of games to get back into rhythm and fitness. Like I said, I feel good and fit."
Goals from across the side
“I could do with one myself as well because it’s been a while. Hopefully I can score a goal soon, and the other guys can help too, apart from the strikers.
“We need to help them out as well. It’s too much to ask for them to always show up and score the goals. Like I said, that’s one of the things we talked about as well in the last phase of the game."
Finding consistency
“There’s consistency in terms of performances, and then there’s consistency in terms of results.
“I think if you see how we play, it’s quite consistent. Results-wise, it’s not enough, especially at home. It’s not consistent enough. Of course, a win always helps a lot in terms of getting that going.
“We hope and expect to do that tomorrow."
Sending the Red Army home happy
“Very important, because it’s never nice to walk off a pitch when they’re not happy, which, as I said, is rightly so. But you don’t want that, of course, and you want to get results.
“You want to go home happy yourself and have everybody go home happy. You want to get that good energy in the stadium and go from there.”
