13s and 17s win silverware

Aberdeen under 17’s and Under 13’s returned from St Andrews at the weekend complete with silverware.

Both sides competed in the University of St Andrews Cup competition for the first time and both teams brought back the Cups as winners in their respective age group.

U17s

On Saturday skipper Michael Kelly accepted the cup after our under 17’s recorded 4 victories in their 5 matches.

Coaches Scott Anderson and Peter Weir were fullsome in their praise of their charges and both were delighted how the boys played.

‘It was a great pre season warm tournament said Scott and after having done so well in the Denis Law competition the 5 x 30 minute games crammed into 4 hours ensured we are in good shape going into the new season’.

Peter Weir was also complimentary on the teams performance and is hopeful of our 17’s having a good season.
