Kusini Yengi has this morning joined J1 League side Sanfrecce Hiroshima on loan for the remainder of the season, with the Japanese club holding an option to make the move permanent.

Having found regular first-team football difficult to come by the 27-year-old makes the move to Japan in search of regular first-team football.

Manager Stephen Robinson said:

"This is a good opportunity for Kusini. Competition for places in forward areas is strong, and together we felt that a loan move to Sanfrecce Hiroshima where he can play regularly is the right step. They also have an option to make the transfer permanent, which provides clarity for everyone moving forward.

"We wish him every success in Japan and will keep an eye on his progress throughout the season."

The Australian international joined the Dons in the summer of 2025 having spent two years with EFL Championship side Portsmouth. Before his move to England the striker had spent his professional career in the A-League playing for Adelaide Comets, Adelaide United and Western Sydney Wanderers.

Everyone at Aberdeen FC hopes this period at Sanfrecce Hiroshima proves positive for Kusini.
