Adil Aouchiche opened his goalscoring account for the Dons in the 4-0 win over Dundee, but as he admitted afterwards, it was a pretty unconventional goal.
“The most important thing is to create chances and we have done this before, without the goals. Now we score the goals, so everyone is happy. It was a super strange goal I think. I was sitting on the floor or something like that. I just saw a little space on the goal and I just touched with my outside right foot. It’s a goal anyway and I’m always happy if that helps the team to win.
“The most important thing today is to win this game for the fans, for the people here. Of course it’s important for us, for the players to take some confidence, and also for the staff, they believe in us a lot, and for the coach as well. We are happy today to bring this win, three points.
“To be honest, it wasn’t a comfortable situation in these last few weeks. But we stayed together, we worked a lot and we were just believing in ourselves. We know that we have really good players in our team.
“Jesper is a really good player. He showed his talent every day in the training session. Today he was really good on the pitch. He scored two goals. The second one was really nice. He deserved it. We are so happy for him. It’s always good to bring in player of a high level. He’s this type of player. He has a lot of experience in football. The ambition of the club is to bring everyone in the high level. We have some good talents, good players in this team.
“Stuart is another, so good. As a player like me, as a number 10, it’s always good to play with this type of player. He can feel the way the game is. He smells football to be honest. He’s got a lot of experience. We can see it. Even in the dressing room every day, we can see that he’s a really good player with a lot of experience. We just follow this type of player and everyone has to learn from him or Shinnie or Devlin. Experienced players.
“I think this week for the team, our three games were better performances, but we had to finish with a win like this, it means a lot for everyone. We stayed in our habits. It wasn’t really easy to live this situation, but everyone was sticking together. We were just working hard every day. We knew in our heads it was going to be a win soon and that’s happened today so we are happy for that.
“Anyway, we just stay focused and it’s just one win. It’s not enough for this club so we are looking to win again next time and to make everyone happy here. We will keep pushing.”
