Aberdeen FC Community Trust has been shortlisted for awards in two separate categories at the 2015 Northern Star Business Awards which will be held at a glittering ceremony at the Aberdeen Exhibition & Conference Centre later this year.
The Trust is a finalist in the ‘Outstanding Contribution to Society’ category while Community Projects Officer Dean McBain is in the ‘Rising Star’ final. AFCCT Chief Executive Ally Prockter is understandably delighted with the news. “We’ve been told that there was a high number of nominations in all of the categories this year so to make the shortlist in two is an achievement in itself. I must acknowledge Julie Somers from Aberdeen City Council, who nominated AFCCT for this award. Julie and her team have been very supportive of AFCCT all year, and this nomination would not have been possible without the excellent support received from Aberdeen City Council. All the AFCCT team are also really pleased for Dean, who has been a real star since day one.” The Northern Star Awards ceremony is one of the top events on the north east business calendar and to be featured in two finals demonstrates how far we’ve come in a very short time and reflects the fantastic ongoing effort that all of our staff, both full and part time, devote towards maximising the impact of the work undertaken by the Trust in so many diverse areas.” The Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce Northern Star Business Awards will be presented on Thursday 24th September.
