After signing for The Dons on Tuesday morning, defender Tom McIntyre sat down with RedTV later in the day to discuss his move and to reflect on a busy 24 hours.

“It’s a brilliant feeling, I’m absolutely buzzing to be at such a massive club. When Aberdeen came calling it was a no brainer. I know it’s a bit of a cliché but it’s true.

“The opportunity came up, the club was really keen, as much as I was keen to come here and that’s a big thing when you speak to the club and the Sporting Director and they say they really want you. It’s a nice feeling. It’s an ambitious football club that I would love to help as much as I can and really push up the table.

“When you come to a big club, dealing with the expectations of fans and outside noises is part and parcel of it. It’s about staying as focused as you can on the job in hand and the things you can control. That’s my aim to be successful here.

“I’m raring to go, I feel ready. I’ve driven through the night, which isn’t the perfect preparation, but that’s why you come to big clubs to play in big games and that’s something I’m going to relish.”
