The Manager | "We have been harshly treated in both boxes"

“We got off to a great start, Storie does great in the middle of the park and plays a good ball into Adam who sticks in away as he does. We then make a poor decision which allows Inverness back into it. A 1-1 the game is there to be won, it was finely poised. I think in the last three seasons we have had a lot of tight games against Inverness and we have always had the upper hand until this season. “The game was still there to be won but key decisions in both boxes went against us.

Having seen them back I feel they should have gone for us and have been quite pivotal in the outcome of the result.

“(The Inverness penalty) I did not there was anything in it. Having seen it again there is no contract and the player (Draper) has bought a penalty. He has gone down without any contact and the referee has assumed there has been contact. Again there is clearly not so we are disappointed that decision has not gone our way.

“I felt in the last game the same player bought a penalty by going down a bit easy and it is the same tonight. You hope that the referee sees it as it is. I think if he saw it again he would make a different decision.

“I have to say Inverness played well but when the game is finally poised as it was that decision was pivotal.

“I think we have been harshly treated in both boxes.

“I think with Shinnie’s one there was contact and he is knocked to the ground and I think Ash Taylor has been pulled down when he has his eye on the ball. On both of those occasions it could have been a penalty for us and possibly should have been.

“Jonny Hayes has a tear in his hamstring. I don’t know the extent of it yet. We won’t know till we get him scanned tomorrow.

“We have 36 points to play for. We move on to Friday and try and win the game. I think it is important we demonstrate what the players have shown over the last 12 games during the unbeaten run. We have to demonstrate the same fight again. We just try and go and win the next one and hopefully start another unbeaten run.

“That will be difficult against Partick Thistle but it is important that we pick ourselves up. There is no criticism of our players. We have overcome a lot of challenges during this run and answered a few people and it is up to us to try and keep answering them. Answering them by getting back to winning ways as quickly as possible.

“We have to recognise there are still a lot of points to play for.

“I have to say I don’t think we were at our best by any stretch of the imagination. We got into some good areas in the final third but did not bring enough to it.

“We aim to be better on Friday. We aim to be as determined as we have been over this last little while and we aim to get all three points.”
