Former Scotland international Chris Cadden has joined Aberdeen from Hibernian on a two-year deal, becoming the Dons twelfth signing of the summer.
The 29-year-old right-back arrives at Pittodrie with a wealth of experience, having made more than 250 Scottish Premiership appearances, while also enjoying spells in Major League Soccer and the English Football League.
Dons boss Stephen Robinson is pleased to add another experienced player to his squad ahead of the Scottish Premiership campaign getting underway this weekend.
"Chris is a brilliant addition to our group, not just because of what he'll bring on the pitch, but because of the character and professionalism he'll add to the dressing room," he said.
"With extensive Scottish Premiership experience, as well as spells in MLS and the EFL and caps for Scotland, he brings real depth and know-how to the squad.
"He has a great engine, always shows a willingness to get forward and support the attack, but he's also matured into a really dependable full-back defensively. I know him very well and I'm excited to work with him again. He was incredibly keen to make this move happen, and that tells you a lot about his hunger and his desire to be part of what we're building here.
"Every successful squad needs the right balance. Alongside the exciting young players, experienced senior boys and international talent we have at the Club, Chris is someone who understands this league inside out and knows exactly what's required to compete every single week.
Chris began his career with his hometown club Motherwell, making his first-team debut in a 4-1 victory over Hearts in 2014 before going on to make almost 150 appearances for the Fir Park side.
His impressive performances earned him international recognition, making his Scotland debut before winning a second cap during a South American double-header against Peru and Mexico.
He then moved to MLS side Columbus Crew before spending six months on loan with EFL League One side Oxford United, where he impressed during a productive spell at the Kassam Stadium.
Cadden returned to Ohio and was part of the squad that lifted the 2020 MLS Cup, defeating Seattle Sounders 3-0 in the final.
Following the challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, he returned to Scotland to join Hibernian, where he spent the past five seasons, making more than 165 appearances in all competitions.
Now, after coming close to making the move several years ago, Cadden is looking forward to finally pulling on the famous red jersey.

“Having worked with the manager before I know the scale of his ambition and what he is looking to achieve. His passion and vision for the team were clear, and it was something I really wanted to be part of.
