Aberdeen FC can this afternoon confirm Lawrence Shankland has joined Championship side St Mirren on loan until the end of the season.

Lawrence, who signed for the Dons from Queen’s Park in the summer of 2013, was top scorer in the SPFL Development League last season with 31 goals and will join the Paisley team ahead of their match against Livingston.

The Club retains the option of a call-back for Lawrence in January.

The striker had a loan spell with Dunfermline Athletic during the second half of the 2013-14 season, making 14 appearances for the East End Park side and scoring 7 goals.

Lawrence will be back at Pittodrie next month as part of the Scotland U21 squad as they prepare to face France and Iceland in Championship Qualifying matches.
