Scott Booth shared this thoughts at full-time after Aberdeen Women drew 2-2 at Motherwell on Sunday in their final outing of the regular SWPL season.
“I thought it was a really competitive game. Looking back on it overall, I think it was a really good team performance because I felt the players we started with did their bit, and the players who came on did theirs as well. "With a little bit of luck, we would have had all three points and another win, but that wasn’t the case. I can’t fault the players for their effort today, that’s for sure. “We had chances, good chances. There were opportunities in the first half where we maybe didn’t quite capitalise, and a couple more early in the second half "It was good to get the goals. I thought Bridget's goal was excellent, and then Hannah coming on and setting up Darcie was really good as well. “Particularly because we picked up an injury to Alex Clarke during the game, we were forced into a change there. I think that’s part of the reason it was such a good team performance, everyone worked right to the very end. “Maddie played really well for the majority of game. She slipped up at the end, and if you are the last line of defence you can take no chances. She is a really young player and whenever mistakes have been made this season, the opposition have capitalised on them. "That’s been a big learning curve for a lot of the young players this season, at this level, if you lose focus even a little bit, the chances are the ball ends up in the back of the net. “There are positives to take from the last two weeks, for sure. “The players have been really focused and have worked really hard in training to bring what we’ve done on the training ground onto the pitch. It’s been a tough season for them, but they still look hungry and eager. “It’s really important now that they put all their focus into that play-off game, and as staff we’ll do the same.”
