“We all feel there is unfinished business at Aberdeen.
“Ever since we won the league cup a few years ago we got a taste for it and we want to go on and win more.
“We have the same belief as the manager that this squad has got better and better every year. For whatever reason, we have not won any more silverware. But is something that is very much on the agenda. Everyone believes in the years to come there is a chance of winning more cups.
“We want to win more trophies and the last chance to do that this season is in the Scottish Cup.
“I always look back to the time when I got injured in the gaffer’s first full season when we won the League Cup. We went down to play St Johnstone in the Scottish Cup semi-final at Ibrox and I missed out on that game and I have always looked back on that with a bit of regret. We were looking comfortable in the game and I was starting to think about the final as I watched on but then Stevie May popped up with two goals.
“It wasn’t to be that year but it’s always a competition that we want to do well in. Things haven’t quite gone as planned for the last couple of years.
“Every game in this competition is massive.
“We have a very tough game coming up against Ross County on Saturday.
“They have some good players up there and their manager has made some very shrewd signings over the last 18 months. They have a good manager and are very dangerous on their day.
“Having Paul (Quinn) here last year, he is obviously up there again, we know the calibre of player they have. They are a bit of a dark horse in Scottish football. As I say I think they have some very good players and on their day they can beat anyone – as they have proved in the past. Especially in Dingwall. It is a place I have thoroughly enjoyed going even going back to my Inverness days.
“I am very much looking forward to the game at the weekend. The last couple of games up there have been tight.
“Last time I thought we should have got something from the game but the result highlights how tough a place it is to go. It is enclosed, a tight pitch and they like to play in a certain way.
“We always seem to get a great backing up there. Even when we have played up there at 12.00pm on a Sunday when there is no public transport. We still seem to sell out. It does not go unnoticed. Every time we have been up there we have had a great support and I believe there will be even more fans than usual on Saturday. It gives us a lift. It is a small tight stadium which will be packed with Aberdeen fans.
“Hopefully we can enjoy the game on Saturday and get ourselves through to the Quarter Finals.”
