Jack MacKenzie spoke to the media on Friday lunchtime ahead of our match with Dundee at Pittodrie. RedTV subscribers can watch in full now.
“Last week was very disappointing. There is no getting away from that. We came in on Monday morning, and you have to go again. The mood has actually been very good. We know how well we have done this season, so we are not going to let one result affect that. We have not been feeling sorry for ourselves. We have been working hard, ready to go again tomorrow.
“We have good characters in this squad. There have been games this season when we have gone 2-0 down, 2-1 down, we have had difficult spells in games and we have had the character to come back from those situations. So there is no reason why we cant bounce back from last weekend.
“As a group we have pulled together. We have stuck together. We are in a good place and as I say, ready to go again.
“We have played a lot of big games this season and there has been a lot of attention on us. I think every game in this league is really tough and tomorrow will be no different. We will be ready to perform at our best.
“There will be a full crowd, full of our supporters and as a player, there is nothing better. Pittodrie is at its best when it is full and we have been fortunate that has been in the case in recent weeks. The fans have been brilliant for us. So it is a game we are going to relish. It is not a game where we are going to pile more pressure on ourselves.
“The fans were fantastic at the weekend despite the result and despite the performance. It is up to us to put in a performance to get them cheering again.
“We have played Dundee already this season and it was a really difficult game. I thought they were unfortunate not to get a point that day. They also had a very good result last weekend against a good Kilmarnock team. We know it will be difficult but we have the confidence and belief that we can get the result we want.
“I am delighted for Nicky getting his award. He was brilliant for us, and came up with some crucial goals. And he got his Scotland cap as well.
“I have really enjoyed my football this season and I have really enjoyed working with Jimmy. I have improved and it is not just me, a lot of players have improved massively. That is credit to all the coaching team.
“Peter Leven has been a big help with me trying to get me in the final third. He has benen helping me a lot with that side of the game. It has come on a lot, but there is still big room for improvement. I need to keep working hard and moving forward.”
