Preparations for 2016/17 have been ongoing for quite some time but today they stepped up a gear as Derek McInnes and his side returned for the first day of pre-season training.

It proved to be a busy day at Pittodrie with three new signings unveiled as the squad builds ahead of The Dons first competitive fixture on 30th June.

The RedTV media team were on hand every step of the way to provide unprecedented behind the scenes access. First up this morning was the news that former Dundee United defender Callum Morris had signed a one year deal with The Dons.

From there it was time to speak to Barry Robson in his new role as part of the backroom staff before Adam Rooney was the first returning player to be interviewed.

Next up it was time to have a look at the new AFC team coach in an interview with Football Operations Manager, Steven Gunn.

Brief chats then followed with Derek McInnes and Graeme Shinnie before heading through to the Ticket Office to speak to Customer Services Manager, Derek Matthews and get an update on season ticket sales ahead of the new season.

It was time then to make the short trip through to the Club Shop to speak to our Retail Manager, Jason Hill, fresh from the launch of the new away kit.

The Dons then became the latest Scottish club to join Snapchat before announcing the second signing of the day. Supporters who had joined us on Snapchat were greeted with a picture of our latest signing.

That signing was 28 year old English goalkeeper Joe Lewis who completed his medical and paperwork today before training with Gordon Marshall and the rest of the keepers.

With two signings already in the bag there was still time for one more…

The third and final signing of the day was also a goalkeeper as former Scotland international Neil Alexander signed up for 2016/17.  At international level Neil was capped 10 times at U21 level and represented the senior side 3 times.
