New signing Ronald Hernandez spoke to the AFC media team this afternoon:
“I am really happy to be an Aberdeen player. It is a very important step for me to join this great club and I can’t wait to get started.
“I want to continue to develop myself and my football. Aberdeen is a great opportunity to show my footballing ability.
“I first heard of Aberdeen’s definite interest on Tuesday. My agent called me and explained everything to me about the club.
“To be honest I don’t know too much about Scottish and British football. I am very excited about experiencing something new.
“I have spoken to the manager. I first spoke to him on the phone and he asked me about my family, and I told him that I am good and as soon as I had finished the paperwork that I was available for selection.
“I enjoyed playing in Norway. I was there for two years. I enjoyed living with my family over there.
“In Norway the culture was different to what I am used to in Venezuela. I was used to living in a warm country but when I came to Europe it was the opposite! It took a bit of time to get used to a different culture.
“It means a lot to me to represent Venezuela. It is an incredible feeling to play for your country. I feel proud but I have to continue working hard in order to play for my national team.
“I am technical with the ball. I feel that I can cross the ball well with my right foot. I have good energy and speed and can get up and down the pitch.
“I am very excited to start my journey with Aberdeen. I cannot wait to get started.
“My family are back home in Venezuela enjoying some sun! They will come over here and become Aberdeen fans. They are very excited to come.”
