Dons perform well but late goals costly
Celtic 3 | Commons 35′, 90+2′ Boerrigter 90′
Aberdeen 1 | McGinn 45+1′
SPFL Premiership | Celtic Park | 3.00pm KO | Att 49,683 | FT
Aberdeen suffered a cruel defeat at Celtic Park despite an excellent performance against the SPFL champions. Niall McGinn levelled the game just before half time after Kris Commons had put the home side ahead on 35 minutes. The second half was an even affair- Langfield having to save from Ledley early on before Samaras shot inches wide of the post. On 79 minutes Joe Shaughnessy headed agonisingly past the post for the Dons and with 3 minutes left of normal time, Niall McGinn saw his shot hit the post. The home side raced up the park and a few moments later won a corner from which Langfield made a save from Samaras and Boerrigter scored from the loose ball. They added another in the last minute of stoppage time when Commons knocked the ball into an empty net after another Langfield save.
