“We’ve had a good couple of days, nothing has changed in our preparations for Saturday’s game and we’re just looking to get back on track on Saturday. I’m confident we can go down there and play well and revel in a good atmosphere. It’s going to be a great stage for the players to play in. Hearts have a good support but likewise our support have a huge part to play as well and I’m delighted we’re going down in big numbers.

“It’s a different challenge for us but we feel as though we’ve done our homework on Hearts. We’ve had them watched and had plenty of reports on them but what they have got is bundles of energy, talented boys, decent pace and they are all playing with that collective spirit. The team isn’t as familiar but that shouldn’t make them any less dangerous. I want to make sure the hungrier team is in my dressing room.

“Everybody is fit apart from Barry Robson and Chris Clark. I think there is a good chance Barry will be back after the international break. Once we got the surgeon to confirm it wasn’t anything too sinister, it means he’ll be upping his work next week. I am glad it’s nothing too serious.

“Nicky Weaver will start as Jamie is suspended. He is a confident individual, there won’t be too many surprises for him, he’s had a good career with plenty of experience. I’m sure he will relish the opportunity to go in and I think for goalkeepers it’s always the way. Sometimes you’ve got to be patient and supportive of the keeper that’s in but when that opportunity comes they’ve got to grab it with both hands.”

“The good thing is after a defeat the next game comes think and fast. Saturday is going to be another difficult game. Hearts are fighting for their life’s but will take confidence from their performances so far. They have a lot of young players who have come into the squad but they will be keen to impress the manager and will be full on energy. Tynecastle is always a difficult place to go and get a result and Saturday will be no different. We know the club do not have a great record away to Hearts, not that the players take much notice of that.

“We are going into the game on Saturday with a lot of confidence and hopefully we can come out with the right result.

“The Celtic game is now in the past. Despite the result last week there is still a buzz about the place and you can see that at training, which has been very enjoyable. The support we have had from the fans in the opening games has been unbelievable and hopefully that will continue so this is a good place to be at the moment. All the players are enjoying it and we all have a smile on our faces. The positivity from the manager rubs off on the players.

“At Fir Park the fans sung from the first minute to the 90th minute. Their backing really does make a difference to the players. We all really appreciate it. I am sure they will do the same on Saturday. We are all looking forward to it.
