“We’ve had a lot of big games to deal with this season and more often than not we’ve come through them so it’s great to finish with another exciting game. I said after the game at Tannadice I fully expected it to come down to this game and I think both teams deserve the opportunity to go for second spot.
“I would anticipate a big crowd. It’s got all the makings of a tasty game as we know what’s at stake for both teams, winner gets second spot and I would expect both sets of fans will come out in numbers. It’s the last time our fans will get to see our team for a while and I am sure they will want to pay tribute to the efforts of this season.
“It’s nice to finish with a home game and hopefully it’s even nicer to finish with a victory.
“We’re going out to try and win the game. It’s dangerous to try and do anything else. There’s different ways to win a game, Motherwell have their plans just as we have ours but it is a game we’re starting with the intention to win the game.
“We’re delighted with the amount of supporters we’ve managed to get back to Pittodrie on a regular basis this season. We’re all very grateful.
“I think we’ve had a good campaign. We want to try and finish it with second spot but we were always confident we could improve. The efforts and consistency the team has shown this season has been so pleasing. The points tally, we’re on 68 points, with a chance to break 70 points, our highest finish for 20 years. A League campaign is always an indication of where is team is so that’s been really pleasing so second or third spot shows there has been real progress.
“Adam Rooney is out, Andy Considine is out, Clark Robertson is out, as are Joe Shaughnessy and Nicky Low. Willo Flood is doubtful. He hasn’t given up yet but it may just come too soon for him. So we’re a bit stretched as you can see but whatever team is out there will be ready to go and try and do the job for us.”
