Derek McInnes, Joe Shaughnessy and Adam Rooney on RedTV
SPFL Premiership | Firhill Stadium | Sat 22nd Feb | Kick off- 3pm
Derek McInnes
“It’s a fixture that’s been relatively kind to us but make no mistake about it, every game is different and every point is getting more precious and I think Partick are a very good side. They’ve got players than can cause teams problems. Not many teams go to Fir Park and score 3 goals as they did and every time I’ve seen them I’ve been more than impressed.
“Regardless of our opposition this season we’ve always shown good focus and concentration. We’re in good away form so we’re going in to the game in good heart and with plenty of confidence.
“The issue for us is to make sure the focus is there. There is a lot to be excited about. The cup competitions have put a lot of attention on the team but we don’t play in the cup for a couple of weeks and we’ve got important League games in between so we’ve got to make sure we concentrate on the job at hand. We want to maintain the consistency we’ve shown so far.
“Barry and Jonny both came through training today. They’ve done a lot of work this week with the physios and as expected they will be back for this weekend. Ryan Jack is making good progress but won’t make the game and Clark Robertson is still a wee bit away from first team football so all in all good to have Barry and Jonny back in the squad.”

Joe Shaughnessy
“It’s going to be a tough game. They had a good performance against Motherwell at the weekend and might have been disappointed not to win so I am sure they will be out to prove a point against us.
“I think we just need to take one game at a time. We know what we’re capable of. We just need to keep preparing and take each game and opponent as it comes.
“It’s been good to get such great results away from home and I think the supporters have a big part to play in that because they away support has been amazing. The team spirit and the character in the squad means we are able to handle playing away from home.”

Adam Rooney
“It’s been brilliant! I came in against Motherwell and was involved in the 2-2 draw and thought we played very well and were unlucky not to get three points. Then two big cup games. A great win against St Johnstone to get to the final and followed that up with knocking Celtic out of the other cup and to top it off last weekend, three points to keep us 2nd the league. It’s been a great start and hopefully that continues.
“You hope for the best and you hope you hit the ground running but it’s a great group of lads who have been very welcoming. The gaffer and Doc have been very good at helping lads integrate into the squad- you can see the same with Shay who has just come in and Alan Tate, who hasn’t been here long but seems like he has been here forever! The lads are great at helping others settle down and everyone around the club has been very helpful which always helps.”
