In a festive edition of Red Matchday for the game against Rangers, there are a lot of special one off features with the players, past and present. Plus, there is an interview with Leighton Clarkson:

If we were putting together a highlights reel from the opening phase of this 2022/23 campaign, then Leighton would feature pretty heavily in it, drawing from his virtuoso range of spectacular goals and assists. The good news is that as far as Leighton is concerned, he’s only just getting started.

… “I always try and get to 20 goal contributions, goals and assists, in a season, as well as just trying to play as well as I can. I’ve made a start in the first part of the season, but there’s still a lot more to do. I feel like I’ve been doing okay, but I want quite a few more goals and assists by the end of the season.

… “Since the day I got here, I’ve been settled in the apartment. I’ve enjoyed everything about it, everything is just ten minutes away from me, so it’s been great. Living away from home and for the first time having to clean and do all the stuff with the house, I think it’s something I needed.

… “At Liverpool through the academy, the messages are always just keep working hard. I know it’s a cliché, but it’s all about just doing all the basics well and just working your socks off and see where it takes you. I’ve been quite lucky to have been a standout player in most teams growing up and so I’ve always been playing. That’s why when I went on loan to Blackburn and didn’t play, it was a bit of a shock because I’d never experienced it before. But then I’d always probably say that that will be the best learning curve in my whole career.

… “Ylber and Connor are good to play with. We’ve got that stability where Rama does all that dirty work of the game where you don’t get the plaudits, but he’s been phenomenal all season and all the fans really like him as well. In this current formation, that allows me and Connor to get forward and create things and try and get as many goals and assists as we can. Connor is a very good technical player and doing well with Scotland.”
