“It will be a tough game on Saturday. I have said previously that if we finish above Inverness this season we will have had a good season. I have no doubts about that. They have shown a level of consistency and competitiveness that has got them into the top six in the last couple of seasons. There is a lot right about Inverness, it is a good story.

“It is going to be hard fought and a very competitive match.

“It will be a tough game as well for them though. The last time we played we got a narrow win. There was not a lot between the teams. We will go up there looking for the three points and will be positive.

“I think John Hughes is a good appointment. It looks a good fit looking from the outside. We want to go up there and spoil his first home game though.

“I don’t think he will want to change too much too soon especially as they have been doing well. They have a way of playing that suits them, they put a lot of pressure on you and are always asking questions. I don’t think they will change that overnight. They have some quality players as well.

“The team news is that everyone is fit apart from Clark Robertson. Cammy Smith has a slight strain after the U20 game but hopefully he will make it.

“I have had a conversation with Reading regarding Michael Hector this week. Michael will go back to Reading in January due to their circumstances – they have picked up a few defensive injuries.

Nigel Adkins has said though he might still go out of loan again before the window closes in January. So we will just have to wait and see what happens. At this moment in time though the game against Kilmarnock at the start of January will be his last with us unless we can sort out a new loan spell.”
