'Simmy', written with award-winning journalist Neil Drysdale, charts the Dons' legend's remarkable rise from local lad to AFC legend.

Brought up in Newmachar and a lifelong Dons fan, Simmy was one of the youngsters who Sir Alex Ferguson brought into the side in the early 1980s. Neil went on to play a huge part in the club's success at home and abroad throughout the '80s.

Neil, who spent over 35 years at the club, won the UEFA Super Cup, European Cup Winners’ Cup and domestically picked up two Scottish League Championships, three Scottish Cups and a Scottish League Cup. The tough tackling midfielder was also capped on five occasions for Scotland whilst at Pittodrie.

Neil made 310 appearances for the Dons and scored 31 goals before later returning to the club to work with the Community Department and then head up the AFC Youth Academy.

For the first time, he opens up fully about his triumphs and the challenges that shaped his life on and off the pitch.

The Pittodrie launch, which will be presented by Richard Gordon, promises to be a memorable night for Dons fans, offering a chance to hear directly from a man who helped shape the club’s greatest era.
