Joe Lewis | Post Match at Murrayfield “It was a strange game really because in the first half I felt we were by far the better team. Possession wise, and we played some really great stuff without causing their goalkeeper too many problems. “It was a strange game really because in the first half I felt we were by far the better team. Possession wise, and we played some really great stuff without causing their goalkeeper too many problems. I can only remember Shay forcing a good save from the keeper’s foot.

“We played an attacking formation and we came here to win. We were positive and you are always going to be vulnerable to counter attacks if you play attacking football. You have to accept you will give up a few chances when you set up as positively as we did.

“Fortunately I was able to make a few saves to keep us in the game in the first half. We were maybe a bit unfortunate not to score when we were on top. The final ball might have better from us during that spell and also Adam maybe should have had a penalty.

“When the ball fell to Jamie Walker he had a lot of time and space. He is a good player so I thought about running out to rush his shot but changed my mind and back peddled a little bit to stop the one I could he him shaping up for. Luckily I was able to fling the right arm up and get my finger tips on it. It was pleasing.

“Hearts are a better side than the one I have seen when we have played them before. So it is probably a good point, a fair point. Hearts will be a tough fixture for anyone so we are relatively pleased in the end.

“When you are a goalkeeper you cannot get too carried away after a good game. With our position on the field we always knew a kick up the backside can just be around the corner. So it is important you don’t get too carried away after the good games and equally don’t get too down after a mistake. Keeping a level head is very important.

“I was just pleased today that I could play my part.

“I am not a massive rugby fan but I will watch the internationals. My brother goes down to Twickenham now and again. So I will watch the games on TV. But I am a big fan of this stadium. Considering it was half full, it was a good atmosphere and it was good to see the amount of fans we brought down. It was pretty impressive.

“I was desperately wanting us to score so I could watch them celebrate. That would have been a great picture but unfortunately it did not happen.

“Normally I am not involved as much as that and it is my concentration levels that I need to focus on. Hopefully next week we are a bit tighter and limit Kilmarnock to fewer chances than we allowed today. But I felt we defended well.

“We are still joint top. That is important and we look forward to the Kilmarnock game. We have a lot of players keen to play their part in the side.

“The strength in depth in the squad we have is really good. We have a lot of good attacking options and Dominic Ball has come in to strengthen the midfield and the defence. He is a good player.”
