Shay Logan produced a man of the match performance for the Dons and after collecting his man of the match champagne he spoke to RedTV
“It was a very good result and a significant one for us.
“A lot of teams might have folded after going 1-0 down with ten men, so it shows the character we have within the team. It is a hard enough place to come with 11 men.
“We started the game very well and could easily have gone two or three up, but then Mark got sent off and they scored immediately.
“We then did very well to dig in. It would have been very easy for heads to go down but the lads came back fighting and we scored some good goals and put in a hell of a team performance from start to finish.
“I am definitely claiming both goals! I have had a look back at the first one and I got the touch. I always like to try and get goals. My little boy of six loves it when I score. I told him to watch the game this morning, so hopefully he has seen both of them! I could have had a hat-trick as well.
“Although I scored two goals it was a team effort from all the boys. I must mention Scott Brown especially. I thought he did brilliantly and could easily have got the man of the match award today. It was as good a performance I have seen from an Aberdeen keeper for a long time. He was absolutely rock solid.
“Young Craig Storie also came into the team and did very well. He is my roommate, so I am very pleased for him. I just told him to go out and do what he does in training. Considering it was virtually his first game for the first team, and at a difficult venue, he did not look out of place. Their performances show the strength we have within the squad.
“I don’t know why – and I know it is a strange thing to say – but sometimes it is easier to play with ten men. The fear factor goes. We knew that to get a result we would have to counter attack, but that suits our style of play. We got two good goals from that.
“When people are looking in from the outside, they don’t always know what is going on at a club. We know that there is a very strong character to this team, a very good bond between all the players. We all train hard and the manager prepares us very well. Everything at the club is right, so we know we can produce performances like that.
“It is now nine games unbeaten in the league. It was a very disappointing result in the cup at Hearts, but we move on and focus on the league. We can’t do anything about the cup result now. The manager does not let ourselves get ahead of things or down about things. We only focus on the next game.
“A team performance like that at Ross County only gives us confidence going into Friday night’s game. Apart from the Hearts cup game, we are in a good vein of form, but we know that every game is different and Dundee will be tough.
“We have to learn from last season. We did not get as many results towards the end of the campaign as we wanted to, so maybe we will do things slightly differently and hopefully that will help us get some extra points.
“I don’t really drink champagne so I will give it to my nan. She has been there throughout my footballing career and is my number one fan. She doesn’t drink either, so I think it will just go on her mantelpiece!”
