“Motherwell may have a few players out but we are just concentrating and focussing on another very important game. We are on a good run of form and eager to keep it going. We will be ready to go again on Saturday.

“It is always a difficult game down there. Motherwell have been doing well of late. Mark McGhee has got them going again recently. He has got them playing good football, they are a good attacking team. As we like to attack as well, it has the makings of a good open game. It is always a place I enjoy going to. It is a nice open pitch. I always look forward to the away games because our fans travel in such good numbers.

“Saturday is about defending well and taking our chances when they come along. It is about keeping the momentum going and hopefully picking up the three points.

“I scored down there earlier in the season. Some people say it was a freak goal but I thought it was a good finish! I will be quite happy to score a similar goal on Saturday! When you are playing in a wide position then you have to put balls into dangerous areas so there is always the chance the ball will run on into the net.

“You are playing for a big club. The manager has always drilled into us that we need to take each game as it comes and that is what we are doing. It has worked for us so far. We know as players we cannot look too far ahead.

“We have shown in the past few games there is a lot of spirit in the squad. Again last Saturday we conceded a goal straight after the break which was disappointing but we managed to get in front again and managed to see the game out. If we go behind in games we have the players and the character to get back into games. It does not matter how we win, we just need to keep picking up the three points.

“It is important that we have managed to grind out results recently. You are not going to be firing on all cylinders every week. You don’t know how you will play. You don’t know how the opposition will play on the day. Even at the start of the season when we had the great run, there were times when we played really nice football but there were also times when we were just seeing games out and winning 1-0. It is always a nice feeling getting three points, regardless of how the game has gone.

“Over the past couple of years European football has been brilliant for the club. We have done well. It is exciting times at the moment and it is an exciting place to be playing my football. Long may that continue.

“We are in a nice position at the moment and we will just keep pushing. We want to go into the split in a good frame of mind and still in a good position in the league.”
