Aberdeen Football Club confirms Miko Virtanen has joined SPFL Championship side Hamilton Academical FC on a permanent deal.
The Finnish U21 international signed a two-year deal with Aberdeen in 2019 having impressed for the development side following his departure from Everton’s Youth Academy.
Miko joined Ladbrokes Championship side Arbroath on loan for the 2019/20 season and after a successful season with the Gayfield side he was named as their Young Player of the Year. The midfielder re-joined Arbroath on loan for the 2020/21 season but returned to Pittodrie at the start of 2021 having signed a new one-year deal.
Miko made his Aberdeen debut against Motherwell in January 2021 when he came on as a substitute in the 2-0 win. He also featured off the bench against Kilmarnock in a 1-0 win.
