“I can’t believe the goal has been taken off me! I did not catch it perfectly but I though the ball was still going in. A goal is a goal though.

“The manger has told me to get into the back post area more. Strikers are told at a young age to shoot across goal and a lot of time it does land up in the back post area and thankfully I was in the right spot.

“I think we played well. I think we created a lot of chances. Christian, Vinnie and myself were told by the gaffer to be positive and every time you have the ball, try and take your man on. I feel that we done that, especially in that first half. We missed some good chances to score. For what ever reason we did not take them. Also had some opportunities in the second half.

“We are not getting much luck at the moment. But there are positives to take from the game, we need to keep creating these chances and the wins will come.

“It not great when you concede an early penalty and a goal. It is not ideal. But the boys should good character to get back in to the game and that is another positive. We got the goal back and then looked the more get another.

“There are some positives signs.

“We were training on Friday when the statue was being unveiled but watched it on TV at Cormack Park. The manager touched on Sir Alex quiet a bit before the game. It did give the players a lift and we wanted to go out and do well. The fans really got behind us. They spurred the boys on.

“For me personally the new manager gives me the backing to go and show what I can do as an attacking player. He gives you a lot of confidence and belief in yourself.

“He knows how I want to play.

“I had a meeting with the manager during the week. He told me what he wanted from me. He appreciates that it will take a while to get me fully match fit, as I have only been training for three or four weeks. He told me to keep working hard and my fitness would come. Saturday was another game under my belt.

“If the manager thinks highly of you, it give you confidence to play to the best of your ability.

“We are running out of games. But there were some good signs. I think the boys approached the game in a positive way.
