“We have relatively fond memories of playing Rangers from the last campaign after playing against them at both Pittodrie and Ibrox. We played them very early last season too in the League Cup and we played very well against them in that game. The game at Pittodrie was our only home fixture against Malky Thomson’s ‘Gers last season so this will be their first visit to the Balmoral.

“It goes without saying that Rangers are a very good team and they have brought in some impressive new faces over the summer to add to the international players that were already there. We’ll go into the game knowing that we’ve got a mammoth task on our hands but it’s one we’re looking forward to in front of our own crowd.

“We already had a young squad last season but we have added five players from Aberdeen Ladies under-19s to the squad for this campaign. They will be keen to get out and show everyone what they can do and they will really benefit from the crowd getting behind.”

New Faces

New signing Elena Karkkainnen could make her debut on Sunday after officially signing for The Dons this week. The Finnish born midfielder spoke to RedTV at Cormack Park after signing for The Dons. To watch her interview, please click here.

“I feel very excited to be here. I have never played in Scottish football so I am looking forward to that. I have had a few years off from football but I am looking to get back at it. Pre-season has been very good. The girls have been very welcoming. I love playing football. The girls are very good, they put me on the spot and try to challenge me and I try to challenge them back.”
