Lewis Ferguson spoke to the media after Saturday’s defeat to Livingston at Pittodrie.
“I am disappointed and frustrated.
“I thought we played well in the first half and were the better team. We created chances. It is the same story throughout the season. We played well but we switch off one or two times and we concede. It feels as if we need to score two or three goals to win a game which is tough in this league. It is massively disappointing.
“You can’t strike somebody on the face and stay on the park. I get that people sometimes make silly challenges and mistime them. If you are going to hit somebody in the face and stay on the park then football is going in the wrong direction. I think everybody saw it. He has hit him in the face, Vinnie has gone down. It is a penalty kick. I don’t want to sit here and moan about referring decisions though.
“It is us that need to go and win the game, the referee isn’t going to win you a game. I am more frustrated at ourselves that we can’t go and win a game.
“It is frustrating, against Ross County the penalty decision goes against us. You create your own luck at times. You need to go and earn the right to win games and we are not doing that at the minute, you do need a bit of luck but we have got to play better if we are going to start to win games.
“We need to go and win next week. It is a big game at home in front of our fans. We need to go and try and get maximum points. There is not long left in the season. We need to try and get maximum points in these games and try to end the season strongly. The season has been really poor and this club should be nowhere near where it is currently in the league table.
“Confidence is pretty low but the only way you can get it back up is by going and winning games. Scoring goals helps but we are lacking a bit in the final third, a wee bit of creativity, the last pass, the final wee bit has to be better. Our performances have been better, we get into the final third but the lack of creativity and spark that is going to get you a goal.
“We will get our confidence back by scoring goals, creating chances and going and putting on a performance that will get you three points. That needs to start next Saturday.”
