Kenny McLean is delighted that he is the latest addition to the Derek McInnes revolution and revealed to afc.co.uk that everything happened very quickly to seal his move north from St. Mirren.
“My agent phoned me this morning to say a deal was on and it was a case of just getting in the car and driving up for the medical and the signing of the various papers.
“Aberdeen is a club on the up, that’s for sure, and the ambition being shown by the gaffer with the players secured on long term deals, and the players coming in, was a massive incentive for me. I know a few of the lads from when I was a young kid including Ryan Jack, Nicky Low and Clark Robertson and this move feels exactly the right one for me at this time.
“I had some great times at St. Mirren and I wish them all the best for the future but I’m now an Aberdeen player which is fantastic.”
Kenny, who will be officially unveiled to the media on Wednesday morning, has been allocated squad number 7.
