Kenny McLean on RedTV

Kenny McLean is likely to lead the line again tonight with Simon Church out injured. The midfielder impressed on Saturday in the centre forward role. He was the player who spoke to the media and RedTV ahead of the Hearts game: “I don’t mind playing up front. Where ever you are asked to play you get on with it and do a job for a team. It is something I have done before so it does not bother me “I feel I’ve had a decent season and, with two games to go, my aim is to get into double figures for goals this season. I’m on nine at the moment but for a midfielder/striker!

“I don’t mind playing up front. Where ever you are asked to play you get on with it and do a job for a team. It is something I have done before so it does not bother me

“I feel I’ve had a decent season and, with two games to go, my aim is to get into double figures for goals this season. I’m on nine at the moment but for a midfielder/striker! 10 should be the figure to aim for. Especially at a big club like this where chances are created in every game.

“We want to finish the season strongly. We want to improve every season so we want to beat last season’s points total. So there is still a lot for us to play for.

“I know no of the boys want to be on the bench. They want to be out there so they can finish the season in the right way at home.”   Gordon Strachan names his Scotland squad for the friendly fixtures with Italy and France on Thursday and midfielder McLean, 24, is keen to add to his one cap which he won earlier this year against the Czech Republic.

“If I'm selected I would jump at the chance

“I’d love to be involved in the Scotland squad again, but I am sure every other Scottish player feels the same way. Being in the last squad it has made me hungrier for further involvement at international level.

“Of course I want to be involved. Players pull out at this stage of the season but for me it's an honour to be in that category.

“It's something every young player should want to do. Every Scottish player should want to represent their country and I'm no different.”

“They're really exciting games to be involved with, so hopefully tomorrow if I've been selected I'll be able to take part in the games,”

“If I'm not selected it'll make me want to work harder. Last time I got the opportunity and it was a great experience and I want more of that in the future.

“It's not long (the summer break) but we need to use it well. It's been a long season for us but there's still two games to go. I don't think there's too many heads thinking of the break, but when it comes it'll be nice.”

“When we come back the European games will be there for us and it's a great occasion. I think we'll be confident going into it, we've done well the last couple of years in Europe but we want to go that step further. The group stages will be what we want. We'll see how the draw is and we'll take it from there.”
