Building on Dundee victory

“We have a really interesting journey to make together. We are in the second season now, and we want to improve. It was nice to get this win at home for so many reasons but I totally agree we need to keep building on this now. We’re going to play a tough away game tomorrow, but I also feel the team is going in the right direction, and that’s what you always want to see.

“I said it before the Dundee game, it’s small steps in the right direction. You always want things to go faster but we have worked hard, some set backs, some disappointments, but the spirit has always been high. As long you keep the spirit high, you can always turn things around. We have to keep working with this now and take the challenge tomorrow.”

The challenge of St Mirren

“The manager has been there for a while, and has done a really good job. They are a solid team. They are clear what they’re doing. They are consistent. I also feel that Aberdeen Football Club and the team right now is bringing different attributes to the team, and my feeling that we are ready to make a really good game tomorrow.”

Working hard to improve

“It’s always good to have a smile on your face (going into the international break with a win). I have to say that even in the tough times, we keep the focus on the right things. We don’t panic. It’s not a nice situation. As a manager or a footballer, the only way is to do the job you have to do to get out of difficult tasks or situations. You can’t hide away. You can’t put everything on hope or luck, you have to keep working.

“The Motherwell game we were quite good, but we lose the last three minutes, but still the team worked their way back, and that’s why I’m confident that it’s not going to be easy, it’s not going to be a quick fix, but we have a way to work with the things we can control our performance, the way we behave, the way we act, we can always work with this, and when we get this better and better, also the performance will be there that we deserve results in the end.”

“It’s always an honour to be mentioned in these circumstances but I have a long contract here. I’m really happy at Aberdeen Football Club. We have so many things, hopefully good things to look forward to at Aberdeen Football Club. My focus is 100% here.

“I’m really happy here, I have a contract here, and I really enjoy being at Aberdeen Football Club. The spirit and the surroundings here, we have been through a tough time now, but we have a still a strong belief in this three year plan we have, we are working with the same process all the time, and it’s a journey I really like to be involved in.”

Team news

“Kristers Tobers is out, that’s a challenge for him now, but we have good support, and he’s a strong guy, so we’re going to support him with anything we can to come back stronger. Otherwise, it’s some small issues. So let’s see tomorrow with some players if they’re available or not.”

A busy run of fixtures

“We take it game by game, and tomorrow is a super important game for us. There is no plan of resting players or save some players. For me, the league is super important and I always have that really high, because that’s our consistency, our development and where we are right now in the table. Then you take the next game after this one.”
