Following a two goal defeat at Easter Road, Jimmy Thelin admitted that his side were not at their best against Hibs.

“We were not good enough over 90 minutes. Even then, I still think if we act a little bit different in some transition moments, we can get something from this game.

“Over the game, I can’t say we were better than Hibernian and deserve something, but sometimes football is more about these moments, like how they score. We have been in this situation now for some games in a row and we haven’t fixed it yet. We have to do better in the transition moments of the game.”

The Dons might well have taken something from the game had Kevin Nisbet’s late strike not been ruled out for offside, but the Aberdeen boss was not willing to use that as an excuse for the result

“I watched it and it’s really small margins, like millimetres. But I’m not a referee. But again, when it’s 1-0 down, we have a good opportunity ourselves to score 1-1 in a cross situation. Right now, in some games we haven’t been good enough in these important moments, and we have to be better in what we do.”

With the transfer window about to open, Jimmy also discussed Aberdeen’s plans for the next month.

“In January, we are clear what we need to do to achieve our goals for this season, to fight for Europe. There are still a lot of games left, but we need to push a little bit now to make us good enough to fight all the way to the end of the season.”
