Two-goal Jamie McGrath was delighted that the Dons were back to their best with a 3-0 win at Dingwall this afternoon.

“Saturday wasn’t good enough so we had to bounce back today and from minute one, I thought we were at it, back to our best. We nullified them and once you get that first goal, it makes the game a bit easier. The gaffer picked a system that would work well against the opposition and we clicked right from the start.

“It’s three wins in the last four in the league so it isn’t all doom and gloom, but with the break coming, it was important to go into that with a win and a bit of a feelgood factor. Today showed we have a good team, we’ve got good players and we have to build on that in the second half of the season.”

McGrath looked on for a hat-trick when a penalty was given late on in the game, only for it to be downgraded to a free-kick outside the box.

“I was licking my lips when it looked like we’d got a penalty – the boys gave it to me with Bojan being off, but it wasn’t to be for a hat-trick! It doesn’t matter though, the only thing that mattered today was coming away with three points, and we got them, in style as well.

“There’s been a lot of highs and lows so far, but it was nice to finish the first half of the season with a win. I’ve really enjoyed being here and I’m settled in now at the club and in the city. We’ve got a lot to do in the second half of the season, but I’m really looking forward to it.”
