Calvin Ramsay spoke to the media after his man of the match performance on Sunday against Dundee United.
“It was good performance.
“It was brilliant to get the fans back and get the win in front of them.
“We knew it would be a tough game against United, first game of the season, but we knew what they were going to try and do, and we had a game plan and executed it well. We were at home so we had to try and control it and control the pace of the game. I think we done that.
“Once we got the first goal we became even stronger and eventually got a second. After that we managed the game well and saw it out comfortably.
“I just try to be as effective as I can in every game that I play, and I managed to get another assist on Sunday. I try and get on the ball and do what I am good at. For the assist I saw the defender was closing me down so I thought I would dummy it and then put over the cross. Thankfully the move came off and we were able to score from it. It was a great header from Christian, he was the one who had to do all the work for the goal!
“I am really young, but the manager has put me in and played me in games. Every game that I play I think I am just going to get stronger and stronger.
“The aim is just to play as many games as I can this season.
“It was my 18th birthday on Saturday, so it was a good way to celebrate!
“It has been a busy few days since we came back from Sweden, we have not had a lot of rest. We have managed to recover as best as we can, and we were able to go again on Sunday.
“I think that I have trained well and tried to prove what I can do in training. The manager has had faith to put me in and I have just had to go out there and show him what I can do. I think I have done pretty well.
“I have been at Aberdeen since I was a youngster, and my aim has always to be in the first team. Now that it has come about, I have got to try and grasp that and play well so I keep my place.
“As a player I am quite calm on the ball, I am composed and try not to rush into things.
“Myself, Jack MacKenzie and Ross McCrorie are all young for defenders but we all want to prove that we are good enough to play in the starting XI. Game by game we will try and cement our places.
“I have to keep work hard and do as well as I can in training.
“I have never been to Iceland before, but I want to go!”
