Aberdeen FC Achieves Investors in Young People Silver Accreditation

Aberdeen FC and its Youth Academy has achieved the prestigious Investors in Young People Silver accreditation – an achievement that represents a true commitment to the recruitment, development and retention of Scotland’s young people.

Developed in 2014 as a result of the Wood Commission recommendations, Investors in Young People is a unique framework that helps organisations in Scotland recruit, develop and retain young people, supporting youth employment.

Commenting on the award, Neil Simpson, Head of Youth Academy said, “It is a true achievement to be awarded with the silver accreditation of the Investors in Young People award. We are looking forward to reviewing the documents with the opportunity to improve and hopefully implement changes in order to achieve the highest accreditation on our next assessment.”

Peter Russian, Chief Executive of Remarkable, the organisation licensed to deliver Investors in Young People said, “This is a fantastic achievement for Aberdeen FC, congratulations! Aberdeen FC’s Youth Academy offices have recently moved from Pittodrie Stadium to Cormack Park where the scope for wider opportunities and engagement with young people will increase. The club has and will continue to nurture talent and embrace opportunity and change in an innovative manner.
