As the first international window of 2024 comes to a close, we take a look at how our international Dons got on over the past week:
Connor Barron – Scotland U21s
Connor put in a Man of the Match performance on Thursday evening as Scotland U21s defeated Kazakhstan 4-1 in Paisley. The midfielder played the full 90 minutes as the young Scots continued their qualifying campaign for the UEFA EURO 2025 finals. Scot Gemmill’s side sit level on points with Spain and Belgium in Group B with four matches left to play.
Alfie Bavidge – Scotland U19s
Alfie gained valuable minutes for his country as he started two of Scotland’s three games, and came on as a substitute in the third match, as part of their UEFA EURO 2024 Elite Round qualifiers in Italy. The young Scots unfortunately lost all three of their games to Italy, Georgia and the Czech Republic.
Jamie McGrath – Republic of Ireland
Jamie was an unused substitute in both of Ireland’s friendly matches in Dublin. The Irish drew 0-0 with Belgium on Saturday and lost narrowly by a goal to nil to Switzerland on Tuesday night at the Aviva Stadium.
Killian Phillips – Republic of Ireland U21s
Killian came off the bench for the young Irish side as they defeated San Marino 7-0 as part of their UEFA EURO 2025 qualifying group. They remain second in Group A, a point off of leaders Italy and face Turkey in their next qualifying match in September.
Richard Jensen – Finland
Richard was an unused substitute for Finland as they lost to Wales in Cardiff in their Euro 2024 Play-Off Semi-Final on Thursday night. He then played the full 90 minutes in Finland’s 2-1 friendly victory over Estonia, with his brother Fredrik opening the scoring on Tuesday night in Helsinki.
Bojan Miovski – North Macedonia
Bojan started both of Macedonia’s friendly matches in Turkey. He scored in their 1-1 draw with Moldova and played for around an hour in their 1-0 defeat to Montenegro on Monday. The striker now has 22 caps for his country and has scored three times.
