“Whilst the rest of the boys were resting or away sunning themselves I was with the Scotland U19s in Turkey. I thoroughly enjoyed the trip. The hotel and training facilities were excellent although it was a lot colder than I thought it would have been! It is always good to go away with Scotland and learn new things. We also played a few games.
“I am looking forward to getting back to competitive action tomorrow and returning to Inverness. I have been there twice before and on one occasion I made my debut and in the other I scored my first senior goal. Hopefully we can get a win. It would be nice to put in a performance as well but the three points is the most important thing.
“It is a tough game tomorrow. Inverness are doing very well this season, Terry Butcher has really got his players battling for him. We though are only three points behind them so a win tomorrow would pull us level. Considering the amount of players we have had out we are in good shape with the second half of the season to come. There are a lot of points to be won.
“A lot of teams are finding it easier getting results away from home. I think our away support really help us. They make a big difference because of the noise and the atmosphere and have helped us pick up points on our travels.
“Hopefully I can keep my place in the team. I know that if I do play I am going to have to play well to keep my place.
“It is disappointing Ryan is away. He was doing very well, the fans liked him and he was a very popular figure about the club. It was his decision and a decision he made himself. I told him what I thought he should do and so did other players in the dressing room but it was up to Ryan. You can get as much advice from as many people as possible but at the end of the day you know within yourself if you want to stay or if you want to go. We all wish him well.
“His departure gives an opportunity for someone to come in and take his place. Nicky Low is still only 21 and is a very good player. Peter Pawlett is a similar age and is a very good player. You have Craig Storie, Craig Murray and Stephen O’Neill who are all very good players. All have the potential to play for the first team.”
