Alexander Jensen was grateful to the character of the team as the Dons came back from 2-0 down with 15 minutes to go to salvage a draw against Dundee United.
“It’s so frustrating to feel like you have control of the game and are doing well and then suddenly it’s 1-0 and then 2-0 to them. It was really a mountain to climb, but we showed great character to come back. Team spirit is very, very important and we know if we go down, we can still come back and we play 90, 95 minutes and we keep going all the way. We have to keep doing that.
“We didn’t give up and just keep pushing, so it was a great second half. It was an amazing crowd and they helped us so much when we scored the first, you just wanted to go forward because they helped us so much.
“But we had so much possession, we need to get more from it and keep growing as a team and keep pushing. We have to get the ball inside the box and create the best opportunities for ourselves and keep creating chances. I felt we did that okay in the second half, but we needed to make more.
“It is great that when we are down, we can bring someone in and they are changing the game. It shows that we have a really good squad and there’s also great competition inside of it.
“Shayden did really well when he came on. He is a great player, you can just slip the ball to him out there and then he drags two players to him because he’s so good at dribbling. Then that makes more space for me or someone else. I think I had many crosses and some of them were not so good, but the one at the end was good enough for a goal!
“We train in the patterns we want when we have possession and how we want to cross and how we want to create chances but when a lot of new players are coming in, we also have to find that connection. I feel we are on the right path with that, and now we have started to give Kevin some more chances. We need to continue with this in the next weeks.”
