Stephen Robinson didn’t sugarcoat the Aberdeen performance at Dens Park this afternoon. “I'll state the obvious and say it was a disappointment. It's not what we've come to expect over the last five or six games. The mentality last week and the reaction we saw last week, we didn't get it today. From start to finish, we didn't get it. It was an improvement in the second half but we already had an uphill battle. “I thought they ran all over us physically, the two boys in midfield. It was always my fear when Brad and Conor were out that we'd lose a physical element and we did. “Collectively, we weren't at the races. There were a lot of bad decisions in and out of possession. When you play for Aberdeen, you can't do that. You have to reset yourself after one mistake and go again. We didn't do that often enough today and we got what we deserved. “We made changes at half-time. Harsh words sometimes help, sometimes don't. Sometimes you have to try and give them confidence. There was a reaction in the second half. We had numerous opportunities to pick a better pass or play a better ball across the face of goal and we didn't do that. If you get that wrong, if you don't do the ugly bit well enough, then you lose football matches. They've done that much better than us. “Scottish football is about winning second balls and getting control of the game. We never had control of the game. Even second half, we had more possession, with more chances, hit the crossbar twice. But our decision making still wasn't good enough. We know that. As a group, we've said that. There's nobody in there kidding themselves that it was a good performance. “Nobody's come out with any kind of credit today. I’ve come out with zero credit. So we have to pick ourselves up. We'll do that on Monday morning. It's one game, one performance. It's a poor performance. We accept that and we have to get ourselves going again. We have to battle harder than that. Make better decisions on the ball. There was too much wrong today to put specifics onto that. There was a lot of things wrong and out of possession. “I have to try and pick the players up and get a reaction to that next week. I'm not going to pick out individual players. We need more from everybody. We need more from the experienced boys, from the younger players. We need more from absolutely everybody. As a collective, my team didn't perform today. We can't individualise it. As a collective, we weren't good enough. “We got what we deserved. There was loads of space and time for them because we didn't defend the ball properly. It wasn't good enough defensively from the start. We put ourselves under pressure and we didn't react to that. We went into a shell a little bit. We have to be braver than that.” There were second half opportunities for Andrew Fasanya and Findlay Marshall, as Robinson pointed out. “We have a 15-year-old coming on making his league debut. And Findlay Marshall coming on for only his second game as well. So we can try and take some positives out of it, of course. But it's hard to take anything out of it today. “We hope Mitchy Ntelo will get international clearance for next week. He adds pace and strength to the forward line. He can play anywhere across the front three. He'll hopefully have his little bit of physical edge that we require. It gives us another option. “We have options, but a lot of them are still finding their way, playing for Aberdeen. It's a tough club to play for. We've had a bump in the road, but we won't get too down about it, the same way we didn't get too carried away last week.”
