Kevin Nisbet made it two in two as he got the Dons on the winning trail with the first goal in the 2-1 win at Dens Park.
“It’s just great to get the monkey off our back, get back to winning ways. I think if you go that long without a win, you just want to get the first one, then you can build on that.
“Teams go through runs like this, maybe not as long as ours, but the intensity in training and preparation was there, it just wasn’t clicking on a Saturday, we don’t really know why that was. We were leaking goals, we weren’t scoring chances we were losing goals at bad times, but all that stuff is in the past now, we’re just looking forward to Killie and going on a wee run again.
“Hopefully I can do the same in front of goal. I’ve got a knack of scoring goals here, so I want to go on a wee run now. I think my first 90 minutes in 18 months was last week, so to get another one under my belt is great. I feel fitter, I feel sharper, I feel quicker as well, so just hopefully the goals keep coming. The goal last week was a relief, especially after I missed that one before, but I think that’s all it takes, just that one goal to go on a run.
“Topi’s was a great finish for the second goal. He’s got that in the locker, he’s direct, he’s quick and he’s got a great strike on him. Actually, I was shouting behind him, ‘Just shoot, shoot!’ and he’s put it in the top bin, so it was great for him.
“The fans have been great, even when we were on a bad run, they were still coming in numbers and still supporting us. There were 3,000 fans that travelled to Dundee, it just gave us that extra spark to go and get the win. We are pleased to give them something to enjoy at last.”
