Graeme Shinnie | "a great team performance."

“It was a great team performance. “There are not many nights where you feel that comfortable playing against Celtic. Defensively I thought we were really good, the centre halves were winning headers, Storie was breaking up play next to McLean and I thought we played really well and deserved to win on the night. “I thought Storie was brilliant breaking up their attacks and not letting them get into a rhythm. “Craig has not had a lot of experience and it is a massive game.

Aberdeen is a massive club, at Inverness we had big games but the expectation wasn’t as high as it is here and for him to play as well as he did he deserves huge credit.

“We don’t get carried away, we know what we have got to do.

“We have got an even bigger game now on Saturday against St Johnstone and we have got a couple of days to prepare right and recover.

‘We just look at it as another game that we want to win. It was a tough game tonight and we need to recover well. If we can perform as we did tonight on Saturday I am sure we will do well.

“When I heard about Jonny’s injury I thought it was a joke at the time. I think he had to have a few stitches and that took him out of training for a couple of days but he did well tonight. His direct running was different class. His general play was really good.

“I was captain at Inverness and it means so much. To come down here and for the gaffer to have the faith in me to make me captain tonight in such a short space of time means a lot. Especially on a big night like tonight it was a very proud moment walking out.”
