We have good news for Dons supporters who are looking to change their lifestyle in 2016…Football Fans In Training (FFIT) is back!
Once again the programme will be available to men and women with two separate courses set to run from the end of this month.
Aberdeen FC Community Trust (AFCCT) is now recruiting for the latest Football Fans In Training programme. The 13 week programme will start on Monday 25th January 2016 for men, and Tuesday 26th January 2016 for women, with sessions running from 6pm – 7.30pm at Pittodrie Stadium for 13 weeks.
Football Fans In Training is a fun-filled 13 week programme aimed at improving health and wellbeing, while providing participants with a behind-the-scenes look at the Club.
The FREE weekly sessions at Pittodrie are split between classroom health education and physical activity training; all sessions are delivered by AFC Community Trust Coaches using the Club's facilities, and feedback from previous programmes has been very positive.
The programme is co-ordinated by David Smith who is the Senior Community Projects Officer with Aberdeen FC Community Trust. When asked about the return of FFIT David said, “On the last programme we had one participant who lost an amazing 19kg, and 11 centimetres off his waist which is remarkable! It is also brilliant to see the return of the Female FFIT after such a successful pilot scheme in 2014.
“With the focus being on small changes, based around walking and light exercises more often and making healthier choices when eating, the group can really see that small, achievable lifestyle changes can lead to such a positive impact not just for the group, but for their families as well.”
Aberdeen FC Manager Derek McInnes said: “One of our priorities at Aberdeen FC is the health and wellbeing of our faithful supporters. We welcome the opportunity to enhance the lifestyles of the Dons fans through Aberdeen FFIT.”
This is a great opportunity to get involved with your Club and help you live a healthier and more active life. The programme is open to men and woman aged between 35-65 who fit any of the following criteria:
– BMI of 28+ – Belly 40 inches + – Trouser waist size of 38 inches +
