Findlay Marshall continued the impressive start to his Aberdeen career with another strong display at Easter Road in the 1-1 draw with Hibs.

“Getting into the semi-final, a win at Motherwell Tuesday, and today although we wanted to come here and win, but it's a good point in the end.

“The manager is bringing togetherness, I feel like we're a really good group. You could probably see that in the last few games, the team spirit, I think we're playing forward quick. I feel like our defensive shape is very good, and I feel like he's just really good with everyone, management-wise.”

For Marshall, his first-team chance was a long time coming, but he is grabbing it with both hands.

“It took a long time to get a start here, but I've always trusted the process, and I feel like it was probably a good thing now. Looking back, I think it probably has helped because I do feel ready. Maybe if I'd got chucked in earlier, it might have been different. So I feel like in the long run, it's worked out perfectly.

“When new boys come in during the window, everyone's got good quality, but I feel like you need to back yourself, and ultimately I think that I'm good enough to play. I just kept my head down in training, I feel like I've done quite well with my chance. The system helps. I feel like as an eight, I can get up and down, and I think it does probably suit me quite well.

“There was a good few weeks left to the window, and the manager said that there was no chance of going out on loan. He just said, ‘Just keep working hard and you'll get a chance.’ After that conversation, it actually helped a lot, once I got that clarity.

“I actually wish the break was a few weeks later, because I feel like if I could get another few games, then it would be really good. But it will be good to just get a bit of a rest and come back hopefully even better.”
