Jack Milne produced another outstanding display at the heart of the Aberdeen defence as the Dons posted a 1-0 win over Hearts at Pittodrie, earning himself some more rave reviews. Speaking afterwards, he preferred to focus on the team.
“The three points is the most important thing, and another clean sheet’s nice. We’re building and building. I think you can see that as the games go. I think we trust each other, and that’s really important. We’ve worked on it a lot, defending the box and it’s showing. It’s important we take it one game at a time. It’s a great three points and we take confidence from that going into Thursday.
“Everyone played their part. The boys that started, the ones that came off the bench, they brought energy. We know, at the back, if we keep a clean sheet, we’ve got a great chance of winning the game because we’ve got some great quality up front.”
Milne made a particularly crucial intervention in the second half, snuffing out what looked a glorious chance for Brag to equalise for the visitors.
“I was pleased with that one. I think Dimi saved it and it hit my chest and I just had to react quickly and get something on it. I knew if I didn’t, it was going to be a goal, he had a tap-in. That’s a big part of defending, just trying to anticipate and throwing yourself in front of stuff. Thankfully, I got my studs on it.”
