Dundee Preview | Danny Ward

‘We take every game as it comes and we will do our homework on Dundee as we have done on every other team in the league or in Europe. We know it will be a tough test but we are looking to carry on the good start that we have made. “The lads didn’t get off to as good a start as they should have last year and the manager has spoken about the fine margins and trying to improve this year. We have improved so far and we are just looking to continue that, we have got it in us to do really well this year I think.

“Realistically, a club this size with what we have got in the dressing room we should be pushing up near the top of the table this year, that’s what I believe anyway.

“It’s gone really well for me personally with the way that we have played in Europe and in the league and I am just delighted to be playing. I speak to the goalkeeper coach at Liverpool and a couple of the other coaches twice a week as they are keeping an eye on my progress and it has all been positive so far but there are always things that you can get better at so I am looking to improve.

“It’s definitely an ambition of mine for the future (to play for Wales) and I think coming up here and playing games will do my chances no harm, hopefully I can keep on performing and stay in the Wales set-up.

“Performances at the start of the season have shown that we have a strong defensive unit but it’s still early days and we know what we have got to do to maintain the defensive record that we have got going.

“Momentum is huge in football, it’s a much easier place to come in and work when you are winning and the points are on the board so hopefully we can carry that on and see where it takes us.

“There is definitely a confidence among the boys but we are not a group to get ahead of ourselves and treat the opposition lightly like Dundee on Saturday, we take every game as seriously and give every game the same focus.”
